"Blackfoot Glacier" print wins award! . . .

The print "Blackfoot Glacier" from The Last Glacier project was honored as this exhibition's "best relief print!"

"Relief" is an umbrella term in printmaking. Relief refers to any type of print that is produced by printing off the surface of a matrix. In the case of my prints, this would be inking the top of the woodblock (the matrix in this case) and then printing. Other types of relief process included wood engraving, Resingrave printing, surface rolling intaglio plates, letterpress and so on.
